About This Episode
You’d be surprised to learn that what we call “Alternative Medicine“ was the ONLY medicine until approximately 100 years ago. Before Big Pharma (which we call “Big Harm-a”) healing leaned into the laws of nature and encouraged lifestyle choices that perpetuated wellness. Humans were able to prosper in the absence of synthetic drugs from the beginning of time. Now, with great advances in technology we have been able to intervene in emergencies with great success. The allure of forgoing the discipline of a preventative lifestyle and natural, gentle healing modalities in favor of a Hail Mary intervention when consequential symptoms catch up is pretty strong. Easy to sell. Though Janell and I appreciate the advancements in science and technology, we wondered: why does Allopathy want you to have amnesia to the powers of healing that are inherently gifted to us through nature? Isn’t it also curious that self-healing is such a threat to the medical establishment? Wait, what “establishment?” In this episode, we offer a historical account of the characters and their monopolous methodology which created what would become known as the Medical Industrial Complex.
